New AI‐Assisted Approach for Expanding the Solution Space: Application to Lattice Structure Design

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces an innovative framework for designing structured materials by ex panding the design space through reparameterization of qualitative variables into continuous structural descriptors. Combined with machine‐learning‐based prediction and multi‐objective optimization, the approach enables the discovery of novel lattice architectures ...

Spatial modelling of bilby (Macrotis lagotis) and rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) pellets within a predator-proof enclosure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A traditional design-reliant estimate of abundance is calculated by multiplying a density estimate obtained from transects to reflect the size of the study area.

Integration of OpenCV‐Based Microscopic Adhesive Volume Measurement Into a Pyiron Workflow for Automated Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Residual adhesive after electrode loading in adhesive‐assisted resistance spot welding is quantified through a traceable experimental‐to‐digital workflow. Chromatic confocal topography provides calibrated surface‐height data, while OpenCV detects the electrode imprint and integrates adhesive height into comparable volume metrics.

Oppressive Environments: an Analytical Investigation of the Role of Buildings and Settings [PDF]

open access: yesصفه, 2017
There are both pleasant and unpleasant forces originating from the environment which can either interest or disinterest the observer. Humans try to make a pleasing balance with these environmental forces.

Using finite volume method for simulating the natural convective heat transfer of nano-fluid flow inside an inclined enclosure with conductive walls in the presence of a constant temperature heat source

open access: yes, 2019
In the present work, natural convective heat transfer of water/Al2O3 nano-fluid in an inclined square enclosure is investigated. The side walls of the cavity are cold and the upper and lower ones are insulated.

The Influence of Field‐Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) Temperature and Cooling Rate on the Microstructural Evolution in Gamma‐Titanium Aluminide Alloy GE4822

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the Field Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST) parameters, dwell temperature and cooling rate, significantly influences the microstructural evolution in titanium aluminide GE4822. Significant γ‐lamellar colonies develop only upon cooling through the α‐transus.

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...
