Exposure to common noxious agents (1), including allergens, pollutants, and micro‐nanoplastics, can cause epithelial barrier damage (2) in our body's protective linings. This may trigger an immune response to our microbiome (3). The epithelial barrier theory explains how this process can lead to chronic noncommunicable diseases (4) affecting organs ...

Anti-jamming method for STAP based on a bi-phase random-coded signal
The scattered-wave sweeping frequency jamming occupies many space-time adaptive processing (STAP) degrees of freedom, which results in a serious decline in STAP performance. To solve this problem, an anti-jamming method of STAP based on a bi-phase random-

Parietal Alpha Oscillations: Cognitive Load and Mental Toughness
Cognitive effort is intrinsically linked to task difficulty, intelligence, and mental toughness. Intelligence reflects an individual’s cognitive aptitude, whereas mental toughness (MT) reflects an individual’s resilience in pursuing success.

Encoding Specific 3D Polyhedral Complexes Using 3D Binary Images [PDF]
We build upon the work developed in [4] in which we presented a method to “locally repair” the cubical complex Q(I) associated to a 3D binary image I, to obtain a “well-composed” polyhedral complex P(I), homotopy equivalent to Q(I).

From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

Enabling Fine-Grain Restricted Coset Coding Through Word-Level Compression for PCM
Phase change memory (PCM) has recently emerged as a promising technology to meet the fast growing demand for large capacity memory in computer systems, replacing DRAM that is impeded by physical limitations. Multi-level cell (MLC) PCM offers high density

Compressed Encoding for Rank Modulation [PDF]
Rank modulation has been recently proposed as a scheme for storing information in flash memories. While rank modulation has advantages in improving write speed and endurance, the current encoding approach is based on the "push to the top" operation ...

ERBIN limits epithelial cell plasticity via suppression of TGF‐β signaling
In breast and lung cancer patients, low ERBIN expression correlates with poor clinical outcomes. Here, we show that ERBIN inhibits TGF‐β‐induced epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in NMuMG breast and A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell lines. ERBIN suppresses TGF‐β/SMAD signaling and reduces TGF‐β‐induced ERK phosphorylation.

Texts for the corpus of Nko: collection, conversion, and open issues
This paper discusses the compilation of a Maninka corpus, where the majority of texts are written in the Nko alphabet. Prospects for further development of the Nko corpus are briefly outlined. With this information presented, the aim is to further extend

Encoding algebraic power series [PDF]
Algebraic power series are formal power series which satisfy a univariate polynomial equation over the polynomial ring in n variables. This relation determines the series only up to conjugacy. Via the Artin-Mazur theorem and the implicit function theorem
