Coordination Properties of 2,5-Dimesitylpyridine: An Encumbering and Versatile Ligand for Transition-Metal Chemistry

open access: closedInorganic Chemistry, 2011
To overcome the unfavorable steric pressures associated with 2,6-disubstitution in encumbering pyridine ligands, the coordination chemistry of a 2,5-disubstituted variant, namely, 2,5-dimesitylpyridine (2,5-Mes(2)py), is reported. This diaryl pyridine shows good binding ability to a range of transition-metal fragments with varying formal oxidation ...

Synthesis and Spectroscopic Properties of Iron(H) Complex with Sterically Encumbered Thiolate Ligand: 2,4,6-Triphenylbenzenethiolate

open access: closedSpectroscopy Letters, 1998
Abstract Novel iron(II) complex of 2,4,6-triphenylbenzenethiolate (tpbt) was synthesized by ligand exchange reaction of (Et4N)2[FeII(S-t-Bu)4] with tpbt-H. The complex shows absorption maxima at 277 nm (36500 M−1cm−1) and 367 nm (22800 M−1 cm−1), and Fe2+/Fe3+ redox potential at-0.78 V vs SCE in acetonitrile.

Sterically encumbered poly(arylene ether)s containing spiro‐annulated substituents: Synthesis and thermal properties

open access: closedJournal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 2010
AbstractFour novel 2‐trifluoromethyl‐activated bisfluoro monomers have been synthesized successfully using a Suzuki‐coupling reaction of 3‐trifluoromethyl‐4‐fluoro phenyl boronic acid with 2,7‐dibromofluorene with varied pendants. Four monomers were converted to a series of fluorene‐based poly(arylene ether)s with pendants by nucleophilic displacement ...

Structure–Property Relationships and 1O2 Photosensitisation in Sterically Encumbered Diimine PtII Acetylide Complexes

open access: closedChemistry – A European Journal, 2013
AbstractA series of sterically encumbered [Pt(L)(σ‐acetylide)2] complexes were prepared in which L, a dendritic polyaromatic diimine ligand, was held constant (L=1‐(2,2′‐bipyrid‐6‐yl)‐2,3,4,5‐tetrakis(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)benzene) and the cis ethynyl co‐ligands were varied.

Coordination and structural properties of encumbering 6-mesityl-2-picolinate complexes

open access: closedDalton Transactions, 2012
In an effort to enforce a sterically hindered environment in transition-metal and main-group 2-picolinate complexes, the synthesis of the encumbering derivative 6-mesityl-2-picolinate ((Mes)pic) is presented. The coordination and structural properties of (Mes)pic are demonstrated with a range of transition-metal and main-group fragments. The 6-position

Crystal structures and magnetic properties of a sterically encumbered dithiadiazolyl radical, 2,4,6-(F3C)3C6H2CNSSN˙

open access: closedChemical Communications, 2005
The sterically protected dithiadiazolyl radical (F3C)3C6H2CNSSN. (1) crystallises in two polymorphs: 1alpha, comprised of monomeric units and 1beta, containing a mixture of both pi*-pi* dimers and S = (1/2) monomers; whilst both polymorphs exhibit similar structure-directing motifs, the variation in packing leads to different magnetic behaviour.

Synthesis and Characterization of Sterically Encumbered Derivatives of Aluminum Hydrides and Halides:  Assessment of Steric Properties of Bulky Terphenyl Ligands

open access: closedInorganic Chemistry, 1996
The synthesis and characterization of several sterically encumbered monoterphenyl derivatives of aluminum halides and aluminum hydrides are described. These compounds are [2,6-Mes(2)C(6)H(3)AlH(3)LiOEt(2)](n)() (1), (Mes = 2,4,6-Me(3)C(6)H(2)-), 2,6-Mes(2)C(6)H(3)AlH(2)OEt(2) (2), [2,6-Mes(2)C(6)H(3)AlH(2)](2) (3), 2,6-Mes(2)C(6)H(3)AlCl(2)OEt(2) (4), [

Formation by S RN 1 Reactions and 1 H N.M.R. Properties of Sterically Encumbered 2,4,6-Trialkylphenyl p -Nitrobenzyl Sulfides.

open access: closedAustralian Journal of Chemistry, 2000
Sterically hindered p -nitrobenzylic chlorides (1) and (2) react with the sodium salts of 2,4,6-trialkylbenzenethiols (3a)–(5a) by the SRN1 reaction to give good yields of the corresponding p -nitrobenzylic aryl sulfides (6)–(10). For example, the reaction of sodium 2,4,6-triisopropylbenzenethiolate (4b) with a-t-butyl-a-methyl- p -nitrobenzyl chloride

Synthesis and properties of a sterically encumbered poly(thienylene vinylene): poly[E-1,2-(4,4prime-dihexyl-2,2prime-dithienyl)ethylene]

open access: closedCanadian Journal of Chemistry, 1998
Electrically conducting poly[E-1,2-(4,4prime-dihexyl-2,2prime-dithienyl)ethylene] was synthesized and structurally characterized by UV-visible, 1H NMR, and FTIR spectroscopy. The head-to-head arrangement of the alkylthiophene dyads directly affects the UV-visible, photoluminescence, and electroluminescence maxima of the polymer.

Forecasting Auction Sale Ratios by Type of Encumbered Properties in Real Estate Auctions : A Time Series Approach Using the ARIMA Model

open access: closedKorea Real Estate Society
This study aims to quantitatively identify the risk premiums and legal–economic uncertainties associated with purchaser-assumed encumbrances in real estate auctions. A nationwide dataset of 405,340 auctioned properties between 2015 and 2024 was directly collected to provide time-series information on sale ratios.
