An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Improving a Gripper End Effector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This paper discusses the improvement made to an existing four-bar linkage gripping end effector to adapt it for use in a current project. The actuating linkage was modified to yield higher jaw force overall and particularly in the critical range of jaw ...

Grasping and control issues in adaptive end effectors

open access: yes, 2004
Research into robotic grasping and manipulation has led to the development of a large number of tendon based end effectors. Many are, however, developed as a research tool, which are limited in application to the laboratory environment.

Robotic end-effectors for manufacturing: Recent developments and future research challenges

open access: yes
Industrial robots excel at replicating human movements, with robotic arms mimicking the human arm and end-effectors replicating the hand. While robot arm designs offer versatility, end-effectors, typically designed for specific tasks, lack this ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Development of a Novel End-Effector for an On-Orbit Robotic Refueling Mission

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
At present, the space station on-orbit service is still rapidly developing, and on-orbit refueling operation has not been fully realized. During the process of an on-orbit robotic refueling mission, the pipe disconnectors are artificially docked, and the
