Nutrition in end-stage renal disease

open access: yesKidney International, 1996
In summary, it is evident that malnutrition is highly prevalent in ESRD patients. This is clearly related to multiple factors encountered during the pre-dialysis stage, as well as during maintenance dialysis therapy. A body of evidence highlights the existence of relationship between malnutrition and outcome in this patient population.

Adiponectin and end-stage renal disease [PDF]

open access: yesHormones, 2016
Adiponectin (ADPN) is an adipokine with significant anti-inflammatory, insulin-sensitizing and anti-atherogenic properties, which is generally associated with a beneficial cardiometabolic profile.
