Sagittal alignment based on inflection point and its differences according to age groups
Purpose: We have always used the standard anatomical landmark vertebrae to measure the sagittal alignment. Instead, scoliosis has been evaluated by the end vertebrae in the coronal plane. There have been clinical studies to investigate sagittal alignment

Kinetics of Contact Formation and End-to-End Distance Distributions of Swollen Disordered Peptides [PDF]
Unstructured polypeptide chains are subject to various degrees of swelling or compaction depending on the combination of solvent condition and amino acid sequence. Highly denatured proteins generally behave like random-coils with excluded volume repulsion, whereas in aqueous buffer more compact conformations have been observed for the low-populated ...

ABSTRACT Primary lung carcinomas and bronchial carcinoid tumors (BC) are very rare malignancies in childhood. While typical BC and mucoepidermoid carcinomas are mostly low‐grade, localized tumors with a more favorable prognosis than in adults, necessitating avoidance of overtreatment, adenocarcinomas of the lung are often diagnosed at advanced disease ...

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Mean-squared end-to-end distance of worm-like chains.
The theoretical mean-squared end-to-end distance of worm-like chains as a function of number of beads (11) is compared to simulation data obtained from linear chains of beads as described in Sec. Topologies.

Performance evaluation of a new end-to-end traffic-aware routing in MANETs [PDF]
There has been a lot of research effort on developing reactive routing algorithms for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) over the past few years. Most of these algorithms consider finding the shortest path from source to destination in building a route ...

ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

Glycosylation extends end-to-end distance of linkers.
Relative free energy as a function of end-to-end distance from the REMD simulations for linkers. (A) The linker sequences examined in this study, shown with the putative O-glycosylation sites.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
