Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

Under the new European WEEE directive there will be strict limits for disposal of electrical goods to landfill. The area of analysis which takes into account the full life cycle of products and components is called "end of life" analysis. The idea is that the economic life of components is longer than the life of the initial use.

Background: Oncology provider discussions of treatment options, outcomes of treatment, and end of life planning are essential to care for patients with advanced malignancies. Studies have shown that despite this, many patients do not have adequate care planning, including end of life planning. It is thought that

End-of-life dialogue, end-of-life education
BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care, 2014I read with particular interest the recent letter from Dr Fenning1 about the importance of identifying the ‘end-of-life’ (EOL) period in everyday medical practice. Working with geriatric patients in an acute geriatric clinic on the Italian territory, I directly experience the unpredictable impact of multimorbidity and chronic progressive conditions on ...
