An Endmember Extraction Method Based on Artificial Bee Colony Algorithms for Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2015
Mixed pixels are common in hyperspectral remote sensing images. Endmember extraction is a key step in spectral unmixing. The linear spectral mixture model (LSMM) constitutes a geometric approach that is commonly used for this purpose.

Mapping Impervious Surface Using Phenology-Integrated and Fisher Transformed Linear Spectral Mixture Analysis

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
The impervious surface area (ISA) is a key indicator of urbanization, which brings out serious adverse environmental and ecological consequences. The ISA is often estimated from remotely sensed data via spectral mixture analysis (SMA).

Automatic Extraction of Optimal Endmembers from Airborne Hyperspectral Imagery Using Iterative Error Analysis (IEA) and Spectral Discrimination Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Pure surface materials denoted by endmembers play an important role in hyperspectral processing in various fields. Many endmember extraction algorithms (EEAs) have been proposed to find appropriate endmember sets.

Nonlinear Endmember Identification for Hyperspectral Imagery via Hyperpath-Based Simplex Growing and Fuzzy Assessment

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2020
Nonlinear geometric manifold of hyperspectral data usually makes great trouble for accurate endmember extraction in literature. To address this issue, we propose a novel nonlinear endmember extraction algorithm by building a hypergraph and a fuzzy ...

Is Endmember Extraction a Critical Step in the Analysis of Hyperspectral Images in Mining Environments?

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Hyperspectral imaging systems (HSIs) are becoming widespread in the mining industry for mineral classification. The spectral features detectable from near infrared to long-wave infrared make HSIs a potentially efficient tool for exploration, clay mapping,

Engineering Na‐Rich P2‐Type Layered Oxides Through Li/Ti Dual Doping for Oxygen Redox Activation and Superior Structural Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
P2‐type sodium layered oxides have potential for high‐voltage operation but suffer from structural instability and capacity fading. This work demonstrates that synergistic Li and Ti co‐doping enhances sodium inventory, suppresses detrimental phase transitions, and activates reversible lattice oxygen redox.

A Novel Endmember Extraction Method Using Sparse Component Analysis for Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Imagery

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The spectral unmixing technique is an effective method of solving the mixed pixel problem in the hyperspectral remote sensed imagery. During the process, endmember extraction algorithm (EEA) is significant for the creation of material abundance maps ...

Constrained Nonnegative Matrix Factorization for Blind Hyperspectral Unmixing Incorporating Endmember Independence

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2021
Hyperspectral unmixing (HU) has become an important technique in exploiting hyperspectral data since it decomposes a mixed pixel into a collection of endmembers weighted by fractional abundances.

Overcoming the Nyquist Limit in Molecular Hyperspectral Imaging by Reinforcement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Explorative spectral acquisition guide automatically selects informative spectral bands to optimize downstream tasks, outperforming full‐spectrum acquisition. The selected hyperspectral data are used for tasks such as unmixing and segmentation. BandOptiNet encodes selection states and outputs optimal bands to guide spectral acquisition. Recent advances

Heterogeneous Exhumation Mechanisms in Neoproterozoic Collisional Metamorphism: P–T Constraints From Pelotas and Punta del Este Terranes, Southern Brazil and Uruguay

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Petrography, thermobarometry, and pseudosection modelling reveal peak metamorphic conditions of 3–7.5 kbar and 520°C–800°C in Tonian‐Cryogenian orthogneisses of the Dom Feliciano Belt. Metamorphic field gradients of 27°C/km–39°C/km and variable exhumation mechanisms support correlation of these units as remnants of a Himalayan‐type Piratini Orogeny ...
