Safety evaluation of an extension of use of the food enzyme endo-1,4-β-xylanase from the genetically modified Aspergillus oryzae strain NZYM-FA. [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA J
Abstract The food enzyme endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase (4‐β‐d‐xylan xylanohydrolase, EC 3.2.1.8) is produced with the genetically modified Aspergillus oryzae strain NZYM‐FA by Novozymes A/S. The safety of this food enzyme was evaluated previously, and it did not give rise to safety concerns when used in two food manufacturing processes.

Characterization of a new bifunctional endo-1,4-β-xylanase/esterase found in the rumen metagenome. [PDF]

open access: yesSci Rep, 2021
Metagenomic data mining of the Nellore cattle rumen microbiota identified a new bifunctional enzyme, endo-1,4-β-xylanase/esterase, which was subsequently overexpressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3).
