Endo-Orco:GFP enrichment in the ciliary OS in kinesin-2 RNAi and mutant backgrounds.

open access: yes, 2021
(A) Endo-Orco:GFP localisation inside the ab1-type s. basiconica from Control (Endo-Orco:GFP; +), and homozygous Klp64Dkj353 mutant (Endo-Orco:GFP; Klp64Dkj353) backgrounds at 6 days AE (a). Histograms depict total fluorescence intensity (mean ± S.D.) of

Structures of mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase reveal carrier‐domain translocation between catalytic sites

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

Safety and efficacy of Amylofeed® (endo‐1,3(4)‐β‐glucanase and endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase and α‐amylase) as a feed additive for piglets and minor growing porcine species

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2018
Amylofeed® is a feed additive that contains glucanase, xylanase and amylase activities, and it is intended to be used as a zootechnical additive for weaned piglets and minor porcine species. In previous assessments, the additive was characterised and the

Efficient expression and characterization of a cold-active endo-1, 4-β-glucanase from Citrobacter farmeri by co-expression of Myxococcus xanthus Protein S

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Cold-active endo-1, 4-β-glucanase (EglC) can decrease energy costs and prevent product denaturation in biotechnological processes. However, the nature EglC from C. farmeri A1 showed very low activity (800 U/L).

Scientific Opinion on the safety and efficacy of Safizym® X (endo-1,4-beta-xylanase) as a feed additive for chickens and turkeys for fattening and laying hens.

open access: yesEFSA journal. European Food Safety Authority, 2014
Safizym®X is an enzyme preparation of endo-1, 4-beta-xylanase produced by a non-genetically modified strain of Trichoderma reesei which is presented in solid and liquid forms.

Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

Scientific Opinion on the safety and efficacy of AGal‐Pro BL/BL‐L (alpha‐galactosidase and endo‐1,4‐beta‐glucanase) as a feed additive for laying hens and minor poultry species for laying

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2015
The additive AGal‐Pro BL/BL‐L is a preparation of alpha‐galactosidase produced by a genetically modified strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and of endo‐1,4‐beta‐glucanase produced by a non‐genetically modified strain of Aspergillus niger. The additive is

Effect of Glucose on Endo-xylanase and β-xylosidase Production by Fungi Isolated in Indonesia

open access: yesJournal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, 2022
Xylanases are widely produced by fungi, and the production of polysaccharide-degrading enzymes, in general, are usually subjected to carbon catabolite repression.
