Food Safety Threats: Molecular Surveillance, Antibiogram and Virulence Profiling of Biofilm Forming Enterococcus faecalis in Bangladeshi Restaurants

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 6, December 2025.
Nowadays, researchers have found Enterococci in many food items. E. faecalis prevalence, antimicrobial resistance, pathogenicity, and biofilm‐forming capacity in food samples and food outlets in Bangladesh are little known. Microbiological conditions in food preparation sectors must be examined to ensure food safety and meet optimum criteria for high ...

Surface Microbiome Profiling of Dental Elevators Using Third‐Generation Sequencing: Implications for Infection Control in Dental Practice

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 6, December 2025.
This study utilized PacBio Sequel II sequencing to characterize biofilm‐forming microbial communities on used dental elevators. Analysis of 923,990 CCS sequences revealed diverse contamination with clinically relevant genera including Prevotella, Fusobacterium, and Streptococcus. Findings emphasize enhanced sterilization protocols and demonstrate third‐

Dysbiosis and Links of the Middle Ear, Nasal, and Oral Microbiota in Chronic Otitis Media with Effusion

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
This study profiled the microbiota of the middle ear, nasal cavity, and oral cavity in 100 COME patients and 77 controls using 16S rRNA sequencing. Key COME‐associated taxa were enriched in both otic and nasal sites, with strong inter‐site correlations.
