[Endocrinological findings in endocrine orbitopathy].

Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde, 2005

The Optic Nerve in Endocrine Orbitopathy

1978
Distension of the meninges of the orbital optic nerve occurs routinely with increased intracranial pressure, whether papilledema be present or, as when optic atrophy supervenes, not demonstrable. This meningeal distension is due to the presence of a perineural cuff of cerebrospinal fluid under pressure.
