The Nuclear Localization of ACLY Guards Early Embryo Development Through Recruiting P300 and HAT1 to Promote Histone Acetylation and Transcription

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ACLY is vital for early embryo development. IGF‐1 activates AKT to phosphorylate ACLY, driving its nuclear localization and recruitment of HATs (P300/HAT1), boosting acetyl‐CoA production and histone acetylation for transcriptional activation. Conversely, ACLY deficiency (via knockdown, knockout, or AKT inhibition) reduces nuclear acetyl‐CoA, disrupts ...

Development and evaluation of a health‐related quality‐of‐life tool for dogs with Cushing's syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, 2019
Background Clinical signs and consequences of Cushing's syndrome are likely to impact upon a dog's life. Quantification of this impact on a dog's health‐related quality‐of‐life (HRQoL) could contribute to optimized disease management.

European Society of Endocrinology Clinical Practice Guideline for long-term follow-up of patients operated on for a phaeochromocytoma or a paraganglioma.

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Endocrinology, 2016
Phaeochromocytomas and paragangliomas (PPGLs) are rare neuroendocrine tumours. Standard treatment is surgical resection. Following complete resection of the primary tumour, patients with PPGL are at risk of developing new tumoural events.

Amino Acid‐Sensing Neurons in the Anterior Piriform Cortex Control Brown Adipose Tissue Thermogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a class of amino acid‐sensing neurons, APCCRH neurons, which regulate BAT thermogenesis. Leucine deficiency alters intrinsic excitability through GCN2 signaling pathway, activating APCCRH neurons, which in turn regulate BAT thermogenesis via projections to the lateral hypothalamus.
