Clinical performance of 3 endodontic sealers
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2001Calcium hydroxide is used in endodontics as an interappointment dressing. Its inclusion in salicylate resin or zinc oxide-eugenol-based sealers for filling root canals also may lead to a better treatment outcome. The purpose of the present study was to compare the clinical/radiographic treatment outcome of 3 sealers, 2 of which contain calcium ...

Measurement of Adhesion of Endodontic Sealers to Dentin
Journal of Endodontics, 2002The bond strength of root canal sealers to dentin seems to be an important property for maintaining the integrity of the seal of root-canal fillings. In the few studies published, various assessment methods were used so quantitative comparison is not possible.

The antimicrobial effect of various endodontic sealers
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1990The antimicrobial activity of an endodontic sealer can be helpful in destroying any remaining root canal microbes. Therefore it was decided to test the antimicrobial activity of several commonly used endodontic sealers. The sealers used were Grossman's sealer, Tubliseal, Calciobiotic, Sealapex, Hypocal, eucapercha, Nogenol, and AH26.

Clinical performance of three endodontic sealers
Dental Traumatology, 1987Abstract The clinical performance of three endodontic sealers, AH 26®, Kloroperka N‐Ø® and ProcoSol®, was assessed in a prospective study of endodontic treatment in 810 roots. The roots were treated by undergraduate students according to a standardized procedure, and were filled with laterally condensed gutta‐percha and sealer.

Antibacterial Properties of Four Endodontic Sealers
Journal of Endodontics, 2008The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial effects of root canal sealers. The direct contact test (DCT) was used to assess the antibacterial properties of AH plus, Apexit Plus, Epiphany SE, and RoekoSeal when in contact with Enterococcus faecalis.

Tooth discoloration induced by endodontic sealers
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1986Endodontic therapy often results in discoloration of the tooth crown. The main causes are blood, necrotic pulp tissue, and endodontic materials. The staining potentials of various materials were examined in vitro by means of a visual method for tooth color determination.

A study of the rheological properties of endodontic sealers
International Endodontic Journal, 2005AbstractAim To test the hypothesis that there would be no statistically significant difference in viscosity‐related measures of endodontic sealers or change in these with strain rate, internal diameter or powder : liquid ratio in a capillary system.Methodology Materials used were Apexit, Tubliseal EWT, Grossman's sealer and Ketac‐endo.

Release of formaldehyde by 4 endodontic sealers
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 1999The purpose of this study was to evaluate the release of formaldehyde by some root canal filling materials. Two older endodontic sealers, AH 26 and Endomethasone, and 2 recently available sealers, AH Plus and Top Seal, were analyzed. Infrared and electronic spectroscopy were used to determine formaldehyde content after set of the materials.Analysis ...
