Development after endo-dormancy release ensures perennial plants, such as forest trees, proper response to environmental changes and enhances their adaptability. In northern hemisphere, megasporophore and microsporophore of conifers undergo dormancy to complete their development.

REST BREAKING AGENTS ON APPLE ENDODORMANCY RELEASE UNDER SOUTHERN URUGUAYAN CONDITIONS
Acta Horticulturae, 2010Apple (Malus domestica Borkh) commercial production in Uruguay is mainly located in the southern area (35°SL), where winter conditions not always satisfy chilling requirements for adequate sprouting. Limitations as poor budbreak percentage and extended flowering period are usually overcome with rest breaking agent sprays.

Abstract A biological test (‘single node cuttings’ test) was used to study the endodormancy dynamics of the leaf buds of three peach tree varieties in tropical and temperate climates over 3 years. Results showed evolution in the growth capacities of the leaf buds throughout endodormancy in both climates and it was thus possible to determine dates of ...

Identification of Endodormancy Release for Cherries (Prunus Avium L.) by Abscisic Acid and Sugars
Journal of Horticulture, 2017In order to develop reliable and physiologically sound models for the plant development in spring, the date of endodormancy release is always a crucial and mostly unknown model parameter. Until present, classical approaches - such as climate chamber experiments - are used to derive this unknown parameter.

Not many studies have been carried out that aimed at knowing the spatial features of the transduction of external signals that influence bud endodormancy release in woody perennials: which structures are able to perceive the signals? Which buds are targets (at the endodormancy release level) of the transduction process borne in a given receptive ...

Expression and genomic structure of the dormancy-associated MADS box genes MADS13 in Japanese pears (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai) that differ in their chilling requirement for endodormancy release [PDF]
We isolated three dormancy-associated MADS-box (DAM) genes (MADS13-1, MADS13-2 and MADS13-3) and showed regulated expression concomitant with endodormancy establishment and release in the leaf buds of Japanese pear 'Kosui'. Comparative analysis between 'Kosui' and Taiwanese pear TP-85-119 ('Hengshanli'), a less dormant pear cultivar, showed reduction ...

A trial was conducted to verify the effect of hydrogen cyanamide (HC) application on endodormancy release and blooming of 'Summit' sweet cherry trees, as well as on carbohydrates, nitrogen content, and endogenous hormone. The use of HC hastened bud release, shortened the bloom period that resulted in improved fruit set.
