The study identifies a novel circular RNA derived from the TP53 gene (circTP53), which is upregulated in HNSCC and correlates with poor patient prognosis. It demonstrates that circTP53 promotes HNSCC progression by interacting with USP10, stabilizing both proteins, enhancing deubiquitination of p53, and thereby influencing tumor growth, with its ...

Single‐Molecule Protein Profiling Using Nanopores and Dimeric Aptamer‐Modified DNA Carriers
We developed a nanopore‐based biosensor for single‐molecule protein profiling using aptamer‐modified DNA carrier dimerization strategy, enabling selective and ultrasensitive detection of proteins and protein complexes. This approach promises advances in early‐stage clinical diagnostics and precision medicine.

Possible existence of a system similar to bacterial restriction–modification in plants
The bacterial restriction–modification (R-M) system has evolved as a defense mechanism against infectious phages and other types of integration of foreign DNA fragments into the host chromosome through recombination.

Targeting human apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1 (APE1) in phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) deficient melanoma cells for personalized therapy [PDF]
Phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) loss is associated with genomic instability. APE1 is a key player in DNA base excision repair (BER) and an emerging drug target in cancer.

Biosecurity Primitive: Polymerase X‐based Genetic Physical Unclonable Functions
What if every cell line can carry an unforgeable genomic fingerprint—one that proves its origin, ensures its authenticity, and thwarts unauthorized duplication? Here, CRISPR‐induced DNA lesions paired with TdT‐mediated repair produce robust, unique, and unclonable genetic signatures—advancing the concept of molecular Physical Unclonable Functions (PUF)

Decoy DNA Protects Molecular Tension Probes from DNase Degradation
DNA‐based probes are rapidly degraded by DNases in live‐cell environments, limiting their use. We introduce a decoy DNA strategy, where an excess of unmodified double‐stranded DNA acts as a competitive substrate for DNases, protecting functional DNA probes and significantly extending their stability for long‐term live‐cell studies.

DNA polymerases required for repair of UV-induced damage in Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]
The ability of yeast DNA polymerase mutant strains to carry out repair synthesis after UV irradiation was studied by analysis of postirradiation molecular weight changes in cellular DNA.

Endonucleases and simian virus 40 virions: origin of a virion-associated endonuclease [PDF]
The origin and role of the endonuclease activity associated with purified virions of simian virus 40, previously described by this and other laboratories, have been further investigated. We found that the enzymatic activity from virions of temperature-sensitive (ts) mutants is not more heat labile than that from wild-type virions.

CRISPR/Cas9, while transformative, faces challenges in specificity, precision, delivery, accessibility, flexibility, and safety. This review addresses these limitations by highlighting strategies to reduce off‐target effects, exploring HDR‐based and alternative editing approaches, and evaluating advanced delivery mechanisms.
