An extracellular glucoamylase produced by endophytic fungus EF6

Applied Biochemistry and Microbiology, 2011
A strain of endophytic fungus EF6 isolated from Thai medicinal plants was found to produce higher levels of extracellular glucoamylase. This strain produced glucoamylase of culture filtrate when grown on 1% soluble starch. The enzyme was purified and characterized.

Depsidones from the Endophytic Fungus BCC 8616

Journal of Natural Products, 2006
Three new depsidones (1-3) have been isolated from the endophytic fungus BCC 8616 and their structures analyzed on the basis of spectroscopic data interpretation. Compound 1 exhibited weak cytotoxic activity against breast and epidermoid carcinoma cell lines.

The toxicology mechanism of endophytic fungus and swainsonine in locoweed

Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2016
Locoweed is a perennial herbaceous plant included in Astragalus spp. and Oxytropis spp. that contains the toxic indolizidine alkaloid swainsonine. The livestock that consume locoweed can suffer from a type of toxicity called locoism. There are aliphaticnitro compounds, selenium, selenium compounds, and alkaloids in locoweed.

Endophytic Fungus-Vascular Plant-Insect Interactions

Environmental Entomology, 2012
Insect association with fungi has a long history. Theories dealing with the evolution of insect herbivory indicate that insects used microbes including fungi as their principal food materials before flowering plants evolved. Subtlety and the level of intricacy in the interactions between insects and fungi indicate symbiosis as the predominant ...

Thiodiketopiperazines Produced by the Endophytic Fungus Epicoccum nigrum

Journal of Natural Products, 2010
Thirteen new thiodiketopiperazines, epicoccin I (1), ent-epicoccin G (2), and epicoccins J-T (3-13), together with six known diketopiperazines (14-19), have been isolated from the endophytic fungus Epicoccum nigrum. The structures of 1, 2, and 10 were confirmed by X-ray crystallography, and the absolute configurations of 2, 4, 6, and 8 were assigned ...

Bioactive metabolites from the endophytic fungus Alternaria alternata

Fitoterapia, 2014
Two altenuene derivatives (1-2) and one isocoumarin (3), together with six known compounds (4-9) were isolated from solid cultures of an endophytic fungus Alternaria alternata, obtained from the fresh branches of Camellia sinensis. Chiral analysis revealed the racemic nature of 1 and 2, which were subsequently resolved into two pairs of enantiomers [(+)

Biodegradation of the phytoestrogen luteolin by the endophytic fungus Phomopsis liquidambari

Biodegradation, 2015
Phytoestrogens are plant-derived hormonally-active compounds known to cause varied reproductive, immunosuppressive and behavioral effects in vertebrates. In this study, biodegradation of luteolin, a common phytoestrogen, was investigated during incubation with endophytic fungus Phomopsis liquidambari.

The Endophytic Fungus of Perennial Ryegrass

New Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research, 1959
Summary In 1958 a survey was made of the incidence of the endophyte transmitted in certified perennial ryegrass seed ( Lolium perenne ) grown in New Zealand. Most lines of seed with high endophyte infection were strains harvested from long‐established pastures.

Chromones from the endophytic fungus Bipolaris eleusines

Phytochemistry
Eight previously undescribed chromones eleusineketones A-H (1-8), as well as eight known compounds (9-16), were isolated from the endophytic fungus Bipolaris eleusines. These planar structures were created using an in-depth analysis of their spectral data, which included 1D, 2D, and HRESIMS data. Furthermore, the absolute configurations of compounds 1,
