Ultradeep sequencing detects GNAQ and GNA11 mutations in cell‐free DNA from plasma of patients with uveal melanoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 2, Issue 2, Page 208-215, April 2013., 2013
Uveal melanoma is a frequently metastasizing intraocular tumour. We detected GNAQ or GNA11 Q209 mutations in the plasma of 9 out of 22 metastasized patients using ultradeep sequencing (2–38% mutant reads). The results show that ultradeep amplicon sequencing can be used to detect tumour DNA in plasma of metastasized uveal melanoma patients.
