Substrate specificity of human MCPIP1 endoribonuclease [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
MCPIP1, also known as Regnase-1, is a ribonuclease crucial for regulation of stability of transcripts related to inflammatory processes. Here, we report that MCPIP1 acts as an endonuclease by degrading several stem-loop RNA structures and single-stranded

Phylogenetic analysis of the endoribonuclease Dicer family. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Dicers are proteins of the ribonuclease III family with the ability to process dsRNA, involved in regulation of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level.

Sequence-specific endoribonucleases

open access: diamondPostępy Biochemii, 2016
Ribonucleases are nucleolytic enzymes that commonly occur in living organisms and act by cleaving RNA molecules. These enzymes are involved in basic cellular processes, including the RNA maturation that accompanies the formation of functional RNAs, as well as RNA degradation that enables removal of defective or dangerous molecules or ones that have ...

Targeted Control of Gene Expression Using CRISPR-Associated Endoribonucleases

open access: yesCells
CRISPR-associated endoribonucleases (Cas RNases) cleave single-stranded RNA in a highly sequence-specific manner by recognizing and binding to short RNA sequences known as direct repeats (DRs).

Novel specificity of an endoribonuclease of yeast [PDF]

open access: bronzeFEBS Letters, 1986
Investigations of the cleavage specificity of a cyclizing endoribonuclease of yeast show that it hydrolyzes Y‐A bonds of single‐stranded regions of RNA and that oligonucleotides are hydrolyzed poorly. The stringent specificity of the enzyme suggests that it may be useful for generating specific fragments of polyribonucleotides.

A Novel Endoribonuclease, RNase LS, in Escherichia coli [PDF]

open access: bronzeGenetics, 2005
Abstract The dmd gene of bacteriophage T4 is required for the stability of late-gene mRNAs. When this gene is mutated, late genes are globally silenced because of rapid degradation of their mRNAs. Our previous work suggested that a novel Escherichia coli endonuclease, RNase LS, is responsible for the rapid degradation of mRNAs.

Structural Biology of the Arterivirus nsp11 Endoribonucleases [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Virology, 2016
ABSTRACT Endoribonuclease (NendoU) is unique and conserved as a major genetic marker in nidoviruses that infect vertebrate hosts. Arterivirus nonstructural protein 11 (nsp11) was shown to have NendoU activity and play essential roles in the viral life cycle.

Diversity for endoribonuclease nsp15-mediated regulation of alpha-coronavirus propagation and virulence

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Endoribonuclease non-structural protein 15 (nsp15) (EndoU) is conserved among coronaviruses (CoVs) and is crucial for viral replication, evasion of the innate immune system, and virulence.

Colicin E3: A Unique Endoribonuclease [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1973
The question of whether or not a cellular ribonuclease is involved in the cleavage of 16S ribosomal RNA by colicin E3 was investigated. For this purpose ribosomes from strains devoid of some ribonucleases or ribosomes in which ribonucleases had been inactivated by heat or removed by extensive washings were used for the colicin reaction.
