Resorbable impedance sensors are successfully implanted into porcine small intestinal anastomoses. Impedance was recorded for 2 hours prior, and 2 hours following ischemia induction, and a significant drop in tissue impedance was observed. Abstract Anastomotic failure remains one of the most severe complications in gastrointestinal surgery.

A real‐time, high‐definition hyperspectral endoscopy is enabled by developing a spatial‐temporal spectral encoding approach based on low‐frequency stochastic filters combined with an encoding‐guided attention network. It provides hyperspectral image of in vivo tissue with fine superficial features, enables visualization of rapid and subtle ...

Gel immersion endoscopic mucosal resection for small gastric neoplastic lesions: A pilot study
Gastric endoscopic mucosal resection is challenging due to the slippery mucosa, abundant blood vessels, and the presence of mucus. We developed gel immersion endoscopy to secure the visual field, even in a blood‐filled gastrointestinal lumen in 2016 ...

Endoscopic ultrasound in the staging of gastrointestinal luminal malignancies [PDF]
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is an important tool in the staging of gastrointestinal cancers. This review highlights the use of EUS in the staging of gastrointestinal luminal malignancies and compares the performance of EUS with other imaging modalities ...

Laparoscopic transgastric circumferential stapler-assisted vs. endoscopic esophageal mucosectomy in a porcine model [PDF]
Background and study aims Extensive endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for Barrett's esophagus (BE) may lead to stenosis. Laparoscopic, transgastric, stapler-assisted mucosectomy (SAM) with the retrieval of a circumferential specimen is proposed. Methods

Fibronectin regulates the extracellular matrix (ECM)–myofibroblast cycle through three key steps: (1) its secretion and assembly by myofibroblasts (inhibited by pUR4); (2) collagen deposition along its scaffold (inhibited by R1R2); and (3) integrin α5β1‐mediated mechanotransduction (inhibited by ATN161).
