Effect of Mirikizumab on Clinical and Endoscopic Outcomes Based on Prior Advanced Therapy Failure in Patients With Moderately to Severely Active Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 14, Issue 4, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Mirikizumab demonstrated efficacy in moderately‐to‐severely active ulcerative colitis, including in patients with prior advanced therapy failure (PATF) (Phase 3: LUCENT‐1 [NCT03518086], LUCENT‐2 [NCT03524092]). This post hoc analysis evaluates mirikizumab efficacy by number/mechanism of PATF.

Spontaneous resolution of a gastro‐gastric intussusception in a dog: Diagnostic approach and clinical implications

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 7‐month‐old, male, entire Dalmatian dog presented with acute‐onset haematemesis. Following symptomatic medical treatment, vomiting resolved, although the dog remained subdued and inappetent. True gastro‐gastric intussusception was suspected on abdominal radiography and ultrasonography and was confirmed by contrast‐enhanced computed ...

Acetylcholine From Solitary Chemosensory Cell, Not Neuron, Regulates Basal Cell Fate Driving Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 5, Page 1617-1634, May 2026.
This study identifies that Ach levels are elevated in eCRSwNP and primarily released from SCCs rather than neurons. Ach induces epithelial remodeling in eCRSwNP by binding to M1R/M3R and activating YAP signaling in basal cells, driving basal cell hyperplasia and abnormal differentiation. Blocking M1R/M3R with TB inhibits eCRSwNP progression.

Club Cells in Nasal Epithelial Repair: Insights From an IL‐13‐Induced Inflammatory Model

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 5, Page 1459-1471, May 2026.
Four inflammatory endotypes of CRSwNP, defined by eosinophil and neutrophil infiltration, show distinct patterns of basal, club, ciliated, and goblet cell expression in nasal epithelium. Using an ALI‐HNECs model, we demonstrate that IL‐13 impairs mucociliary function by promoting club‐to‐goblet cell differentiation while inhibiting club‐to‐ciliated ...

School and School‐Related Experiences of Children and Adolescents With Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Scoping Review

open access: yesChild: Care, Health and Development, Volume 52, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background This scoping review explores the school and school‐related experiences of children and adolescents with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), drawing on 10 studies identified from an initial pool of 2676 records published between 2014 and 2022 across eight countries. The review identifies the following four key themes: school attendance/

Collagen and microvascular alterations contribute to neuromuscular degeneration and disease progression in chronic intestinal pseudo‐obstruction

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, Volume 299, Issue 5, Page 587-603, May 2026.
Abstract Background Chronic intestinal pseudo‐obstruction (CIPO) is a severe gastrointestinal motility disorder that may be idiopathic or associated with systemic disease. In idiopathic cases, the pathophysiological mechanisms remain poorly defined. Although mutations in angiogenic factors have been reported in mitochondrial forms of CIPO, their role ...
