Variable zinc coordination in endostatin

Journal of Molecular Biology, 2000
Endostatin is a proteolytic fragment of collagen XVIII that potently inhibits angiogenesis and tumour growth. Human endostatin contains a zinc ion, bound near the N terminus, which was not observed in the original structure of mouse endostatin at pH 5. Controversial data exist on the role of this zinc ion in the anti-tumour activity.

Angiostatin and Endostatin

2002
The generation of endogenous inhibitors of angiogenesis that are specific for endothelial cells from larger precursor molecules with entirely different functions, appears to be a recurrent theme. Early reports on such a novel class of inhibitors came from the study of the 16 kDa fragment of prolactin (1,2),and the 29 kDa heparin-binding fragment of ...

Endostatin's Signaling Network

Science's STKE, 2004
Endostatin is an endogenous antiangiogenic peptide that inhibits endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and tube formation. Abdollahi et al. performed cDNA and antibody microarray analysis along with selected Western blotting and immunocytochemistry to show that endostatin regulates multiple pathways in human ...

Endostatin (EntreMed).

IDrugs : the investigational drugs journal, 2005
EntreMed has licensed the worldwide rights to the angiogenesis inhibitor Endostatin, a 20 kDa C-terminal fragment of collagen XVIII, from the Children's Hospital of Boston, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. It is being developed as a potential cancer treatment and may also be useful in certain types of blindness and arthritis [227427 ...
