Intraprocedural cerebral aneurysm rupture during endovascular coiling
Neurology India, 2011Intraprocedural aneurysm rupture is considered to be one of the most formidable complications of the endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms and is associated with high mortality. To report the clinical outcomes of cerebral aneurysms that ruptured during endovascular coiling.Over a period of six years, 559 endovascular embolizations were performed ...

Endovascular Coiling for Cerebral Aneurysms
AACN Clinical Issues: Advanced Practice in Acute and Critical Care, 2005Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage is an increasing problem in the United States, affecting approximately 30,000 people every year. Despite advances in the neurosurgical field, approximately 50% of patients die within the first month after hemorrhage.

Surgery following endovascular coiling of intracranial aneurysms
Surgical Neurology, 2000Surgery for intracranial aneurysms that have been treated by endovascular coiling is a new challenge for neurosurgeons and the need for it will undoubtedly continue to increase. The indications for, timing, and technique of surgery in our experience are described. We have reviewed our experience with 11 patients who underwent surgery following ...

PARACENTRAL ACUTE MIDDLE MACULOPATHY AFTER ENDOVASCULAR COIL EMBOLIZATION
RETINAL Cases & Brief Reports, 2021Purpose: To describe two cases of paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM) that occurred unilaterally after endovascular coil embolization. Methods: Medical records including ophthalmic examinations of two PAMM cases were retrospectively reviewed.

Postoperative Coronary Aneurysm Treated With Endovascular Coiling
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2014We present a rare case of aneurysm formation of the circumflex coronary artery after a Bentall procedure. Implantation of a stent graft in the circumflex artery and closure of the aneurysm neck failed. An endovascular procedure was used to coil the aneurysm and prevent rupture. Further recovery was uneventful.

Vertebral arteriovenous fistula: endovascular treatment with electrodetachable coils
Neuroradiology, 1998We report a patient with an iatrogenic vertebro-vertebral fistula responsible for a cerebellar syndrome and a cervical bruit. Endovascular treatment of the fistula was carried out using electrically detachable coils. An angiogram 5 months after treatment showed that the fistula had totally disappeared.

An approach to recurrent aneurysms following endovascular coiling
Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery, 2011BackgroundEvidence regarding the most appropriate management of aneurysm recurrences following coiling consists only of uncontrolled case series and the resulting expert opinions, which range from not following coiled patients at all to performing invasive angiography at regular intervals.MethodsWe discuss several current attitudes toward how to manage

MicroNester Coils as an Adjunct to Endovascular Embolization
World Neurosurgery, 2010In June 2003, detachable balloons were removed from the US market and were supplanted with coil embolization for parent artery sacrifice in difficult or nonsurgical aneurysms and other vascular pathologies. The current series examines the use of MicroNester pushable coils (Cook Medical, Bloomington, IN) as a low-cost and effective adjunct to detachable

Endovascular coils: properties, technical complications and salvage techniques
Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery, 2012Endovascular coil embolization has become an accepted and often first-line treatment for ruptured and unruptured intracranial aneurysms. While the complications of endovascular therapy of intracranial aneurysms have been well vetted in the literature, there are few reports solely concerning the complications and salvage techniques related to either the

Thrombolysis for Intraventricular Hemorrhage After Endovascular Aneurysmal Coiling
Neurocritical Care, 2005Current applications of lytic therapy for intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) rely on exclusion of vascular abnormalities as etiology. Its use in patients with recently coiled aneurysms remains far from considered safe. We report a patient with subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and massive IVH from aneurysmal rupture, which was safely treated with ...
