The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Behaviour of Non-Linear Partially Saturated Soils below Strip Footings

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2008
The effect of time dependent compression of consolidation settlement is modeled by using the finite element formulation of the coupled field equations for deformation and excess pore water pressure generated by an increment of loading applied to a ...

An Analysis of the Social Origins of Endowments in Sari Based on Pre-Constitutional Documents (1210–1324 AH) [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش های تاریخی
The present study investigates the social origins of endowments in Sari during the pre-Constitutional Qajar era (1210–1324 AH), with a focus on the analysis of donors’ titles and occupations recorded in endowment documents.

The endowment effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The divergence between the willingness-to-pay (WTP) and willingness-to-accept (WTA) has resulted in two explanations. First, that this may be due to the manifestation of the endowment effect (Kahneman, Knetsch and Thaler, 1991). Second, the difference between WTA and WTP is directly related with the substitutability of the goods (Haneman, 1991).

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Deciphering disparities in childhood stunting in an underdeveloped state of India: an investigation applying the unconditional quantile regression method

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2020
Background Unacceptably high rate of childhood stunting for decades remained a puzzle in the eastern Indian state of Bihar. Despite various programmatic interventions, nearly half of the under-five children (numerically about 10 million) are still ...
