A NOMOGRAPH FOR DETERMINING FIFTY PER CENT ENDPOINTS

Journal of Applied Bacteriology, 1961
SUMMARY A universal nomograph is presented for determining the 50% response dose (RD 50 ) from the cumulative percentage response. Instructions are given for the preparation of simpler nomographs for particular test conditions.

Determination of a segment endpoint by means of the Radon transform

ICECS'99. Proceedings of ICECS '99. 6th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.99EX357), 2003
In this paper, a detection algorithm for linear features based on the Radon transform (RT) and on the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is addressed. Particular emphasis is put on the discussion of the fast algorithm for the RT implementation; the errors introduced by RT discretization and data interpolation are discussed, and counteractions are ...

The determination of lipoprotein Lp(a) by rate and endpoint nephelometry

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1983
Rate nephelometry is a fast and convenient method for Lp(a) quantification. The linearity in the range of the physiological serum concentrations is good and there is good correlation with other immunochemical methods. The antibody consumption is some 50% higher when compared to the Laurell procedure if light scatter is measured in the RU mode ...

Automatic endpoint determination for batch tea dryers

2001
A laboratory batch fluid-bed dryer was developed for handling small samples of tea for experimental batch manufacture, and this dryer required a means of stopping drying when the process was complete. A control system was devised which requires only the initial weight of the sample to be entered into the controller.

Determination of Cell Dose–survival Relationships from Endpoint Dilution Assays

International Journal of Radiation Biology, 1993
Methods for fitting radiation survival curves to data obtained from endpoint-dilution assays are described. It is shown that for functional forms such as the linear-quadratic model the problem can be recast as a generalized linear model (GLM) and the data fitted using standard software.

Determination of Q values from endpoint energies of beta spectra

Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1979
Abstract A plastic scintillator telescope is described for determining beta endpoint energies up to 15 MeV. The response function of the telescope was measured using monoenergetic electrons from a betatron. A nonlinear procedure for unfolding the measured beta spectra on the basis of the experimental response function was tested successfully.

Automatic determination of optimal endpoint of 1st carbonatation – factory trials

Sugar Industry, 2017
The objective of this paper is to determine the applicability of automatic control of the optimal point in 1st carbonatation of juice purification in a beet sugar factory. To realize the automated determination, a pilot carbonatation tank was constructed and installed in the bypass of the industrial production.

A hyperpure germanium detector for precise beta endpoint energy determinations

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1982
Abstract A hyperpure germanium detector of 300 mm 2 area and 10 mm thickness was used to measure energies of β-rays up to 10.5 MeV. Extensive tests with the conversion electron spectrometer BILL at the Institute Laue-Langevin in Grenoble showed that the pulse height spectrum generated by the impact of monoenergetic electrons on the detector resulted

Determination of endpoint temperatures in previously heat treated beef using reflectance spectroscopy

Meat Science, 1998
Heat processing endpoint temperature affects several quality parameters of meat. The present paper focuses on using near-infrared and visual light reflectance spectroscopy at 400-2500 nm to determine the endpoint temperature in previously heated ground beef. Glass fibre filters with beef juice centrifuged from m.
