Dose-Response Determination in Multistage Endpoint Clinical Trials

Therapeutic Innovation & Regulatory Science, 2014
Improper dose selection remains one of the key drivers of the large attrition rates observed in confirmatory studies in clinical drug development. Many factors contribute to this problem, such as insufficient resources allocated to dose-ranging studies and the use of statistical methods better suited for phase 3 studies than for dose selection.

Sample Size Determination for Equivalence Assessment with Multiple Endpoints

Journal of Biopharmaceutical Statistics, 2014
Equivalence assessment between a reference and test treatment is often conducted by two one-sided tests (TOST). The corresponding power function and sample size determination can be derived from a joint distribution of the sample mean and sample variance.

A statistically defined endpoint titer determination method for immunoassays

Journal of Immunological Methods, 1998
Results of immunoassays for which no positive standards are available are often expressed as endpoint titers. The endpoint titer is defined as the reciprocal of the highest analyte dilution that gives a reading above the cutoff. Unfortunately, there is no generally accepted rule for the determination of these cutoff values.

Identifying and determining SPARQL endpoint characteristics

International Journal of Web Information Systems, 2014
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to introduce several metrics that enable universal and fine-grained characterization of arbitrary Linked Data repositories. Publicly accessible SPARQL endpoints contain vast amounts of knowledge from a large variety of domains.

A NOMOGRAPH FOR DETERMINING FIFTY PER CENT ENDPOINTS

Journal of Applied Bacteriology, 1961
SUMMARYA universal nomograph is presented for determining the 50% response dose (RD50) from the cumulative percentage response. Instructions are given for the preparation of simpler nomographs for particular test conditions.

Method and apparatus for determining the endpoints of a speech utterance

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1990
A speech utterance is supplied to a control circuit which includes a plurality of band-pass filters and a maximum value detector coupled to the filters. The maximum value of the outputs of the filters are fed to an endpoints-detector wherein the endpoints are located or determined using the maximum value and at least one threshold value.

Cystic Fibrosis and the Use of Pharmacogenomics to Determine Surrogate Endpoints for Drug Discovery

American Journal of PharmacoGenomics, 2001
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is caused by a mutation in the CFTR gene, encoding a chloride channel. For the most common mutation, Delta F508, the basis of the deficit is the failure of the mutant CFTR channel protein to traffic properly to the apical plasma membrane of the affected epithelial cell.

An optimization algorithm for determining the endpoints of isolated utterances

ICASSP '81. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
This paper describes an optimization technique for locating the initial and final points of utterances. Acoustic parameters extracted from each signal segment are converted into a cost function versus time. An overall cost for the presence of a speech signal is introduced and is to be optimized with respect to the unknown initial and final points.
