Synthesis of a Novel Amine‐Based Curing Agent for Epoxy Resins Derived From Vanillin
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.The four‐step synthesis of a new bio‐based amine hardener is described starting from vanillin as a bio‐based compound. The hardener ADBA was utilized to cure DGEBA and the resulting Tg,tanδmax was determined via DMA. Compared to other bio‐based curing agents, our curing agent is obtainable in a high yield and leads to a superior Tg of 135°C.

Scalable catalyst production process for oleate hydratase whole‐cell biocatalysis
Biotechnology Progress, EarlyView.This study establishes a scalable lactose‐induced fed‐batch fermentation for an Escherichia coli whole‐cell biocatalyst containing an oleate hydratase. Operation at a higher growth rate markedly increased biomass yields while maintaining catalyst activity and was demonstrated at 150 L scale.

Photochemistry of Aromatic N‐Oxides in Water Probed by Time‐Resolved X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy
Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.Time‐resolved XAS at the nitrogen and oxygen K‐edges is applied to the photorearrangement of two N‐oxides in water. Pyridine N‐oxide rapidly forms the oxaziridine isomer. Pyridazine N‐oxide undergoes ring opening to the diazo compound, without any evidence of intermediates.
