Oxygen Diffusion in Li(Nb,Ta)O3 Single Crystals
The self‐diffusion of oxygen in Li(Nb,Ta)O3 single crystals is studied experimentally. The diffusivities decrease with increasing Ta content in the crystals. The activation enthalpy of diffusion of about 3.5 eV is compared with the energy barrier of a single O vacancy determined by nudged elastic band/density‐functional theory calculations.

The decrease in activation energy of electrical conductivity that occurs in LiNb1‐xTaxO3 solid solutions during the transition from the ferroelectric to the paraelectric phase is investigated. The effect is composition‐dependent and decreases with the Ta content x.

An optical bandgap study has been conducted on single crystals of the LiNbO3−LiTaO3 solid solution. At room temperature, bandgaps of LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 amount to about 4.0 and 4.6 eV, respectively. With rising temperatures, up to 1200 °C, bandgaps decrease by about 35%; their compositional variation is found far from linear.

Numerical modeling of HTS excited medium‐speed wind generators with diode rectifier stator feeding
Abstract Medium‐speed wind generators in the MW‐range with high‐temperature superconducting excitation winding are analyzed by means of non‐linear 2D and 3D FEM models. Besides an inverter‐based sinusoidal stator current feeding, a grid connection via a diode rectifier is analyzed by using coupled FEM and circuit simulations.

The COSMHYC Project Series: Innovative Hydrogen Compression Solutions
Gaseous hydrogen storage requires a compression step in which traditional compressors face reliability and performance issues. Metal hydride compression offers a solution and the COSMHYC projects propose a hybrid concept, integrating advantages of both technologies, to support the rapid expansion of hydrogen infrastructures.
