UV-LED Photo-Activated Room Temperature NO2 Sensors Based on Nanostructured ZnO/AlN Thin Films
UV-light emitting diodes (395–278 nm) were used to investigate the gas sensing attributes of planar and nanostructured ZnO/AlN thin films on Si substrate towards NO2 at room temperature. A significant increased sensitivity ((Rg − Ra)/Ra = 65.3 ppm NO2 in

Oxygen Diffusion in Li(Nb,Ta)O3 Single Crystals
The self‐diffusion of oxygen in Li(Nb,Ta)O3 single crystals is studied experimentally. The diffusivities decrease with increasing Ta content in the crystals. The activation enthalpy of diffusion of about 3.5 eV is compared with the energy barrier of a single O vacancy determined by nudged elastic band/density‐functional theory calculations.

An optical bandgap study has been conducted on single crystals of the LiNbO3−LiTaO3 solid solution. At room temperature, bandgaps of LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 amount to about 4.0 and 4.6 eV, respectively. With rising temperatures, up to 1200 °C, bandgaps decrease by about 35%; their compositional variation is found far from linear.
