The Dynamic Energy Band Model of Contact‐Separation and Sliding Mode Triboelectric Charging of Polymers at the Metal‐Polymer Interface

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Triboelectric charge generation at polymer‐metal interfaces arises from the interplay of intra‐ and inter transformation reactions of mechanochemically generated species, physical properties of polymers, environmental conditions. The direction and the magnitude of electron transfer between metal and polymer are dynamically governed by the relative ...

Generation of on-axis energy backflow via superoscillation focusing

open access: yesOptics Express
On-axis energy backflow has recently been discovered in the focal fields of various light beams with phase or polarization singularities. However, although an azimuthally polarized beam superimposed with the first-order vortex phase satisfies the general conditions for achieving on-axis energy backflow, it is found to be difficult to induce this ...

Benchmark Quantum Monte Carlo calculations of the ground-state kinetic, interaction, and total energy of the three-dimensional electron gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report variational and diffusion Quantum Monte Carlo ground-state energies of the three-dimensional electron gas using a model periodic Coulomb interaction and backflow corrections for N=54, 102, 178, and 226 electrons.

Efficient and Robust Heterostructure CeZrOx/NiO‐Ni Inverse Catalyst for Sustainable Photothermal CO2 Methanation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A heterostructured CeZrOx/NiO‐Ni inverse catalyst is designed for highly efficient photothermal CO2 methanation under low‐intensity light without auxiliary heating. It achieves 464 mmol·gcat−1·h−1 methane space‐time yield under natural concentrated sunlight, maintains stability over light‐dark cycles and extended air storage, and is scalable to 100 g ...

Polyelectrolyte Design Principles for Electrophoretic Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Structure–property–function mapping of polyelectrolytes reveals how composition and nanoscale order control on‐demand electrophoretic drug transport. Charge density quantified under implant‐relevant conditions shows that encapsulation limits swelling, enabling high effective charge density.

Effects of Valve, Armature, and Armature Pin Guidance on Diesel Injector Performance

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The valve, armature, and armature pin are critical factors influencing the hydraulic pressure differences in diesel injectors, and are essential for injection and backflow quantity control.

Zero-temperature equation of state of two-dimensional 3He

open access: yes, 2002
The equation of state of two-dimensional $^3$He at zero temperature has been calculated using the diffusion Monte Carlo method. By means of a combination of the fixed-node and released-node techniques it is shown that backflow correlations provide a very

High‐Order Nonlinear Photonic Crystal with Ordered Structures for Giant Enhancement of Frequency Tripling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A meta‐YAG crystal with artificially order/disorder structures was fabricated to realize the efficient third‐harmonic generation at 343 nm with a conversion efficiency of 4.5×10−3, surpassing six orders of magnitude compared to bulk YAG crystal. Moreover, a wide spectral tunability from 331 to 356 nm was also achieved in the meta‐YAG, indicating its ...

Theory of the quasiparticle excitation in high T$_{c}$ cuprates: quasiparticle charge and nodal-antinodal dichotomy

open access: yes, 2010
A variational theory is proposed for the quasiparticle excitation in high T$_{c}$ cuprates. The theory goes beyond the usual Gutzwiller projected mean field state description by including the spin-charge recombination effect in the RVB background.

Magneto-Centrifugal Launching of Jets from Accretion Disks. I: Cold Axisymmetric Flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The magneto-centrifugal model for jet formation is studied by time-dependent simulations reaching steady state in a cold gas with negligible fluid pressure, in an axisymmetric geometry, using a modification of the Zeus3D code adapted to parallel ...
