Defining High-Energy Calibration Standards: IACHEC (International Astronomical Consortium for High-Energy Calibration)

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
The International Astronomical Consortium for High‐Energy Calibration (IACHEC) aims to provide standards for high energy calibration and supervise cross‐calibration between different X‐ray and Gamma‐ray observatories. This goal is reached through Working Groups, involving around 40 astronomers worldwide.

Gamma-ray calibration energies

Nuclear Data Sheets. Section A, 1968
A tabulation is given of γ -ray energies which are suitable for calibrating high-resolution γ -ray spectrometers. Data from studies of both radioactive sources and nuclear reactions are included, allowing precision calibration in the range 25 keV ...

BETATRON ENERGY CALIBRATION

Canadian Journal of Physics, 1959
A new betatron energy controlling circuit is described which has many advantages over those previously used. It is shown that there is a linear relationship between the helipot control on this circuit and the momentum of the electrons in the betatron just prior to striking the X-ray producing target.

Energy calibration measurements of MediPix2

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2008
Abstract Real-time measurement of the composition and spectroscopic characteristics of the radiation field inside the ATLAS detector and cavern will be carried out with MediPix2 devices. In view of this application, a calibration of the low energy threshold was performed by illuminating the devices with low energy photons, using 241Am sources and X ...

Calibration of electron-energy spectrometers

Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 1976
Relative photoionization cross-sections of strong peaks in the He(I) photoelectron spectra of N2, CO, CO2, and O2 are tabulated. These data have been measured with an electron energy analyzer whose relative luminosity has been calibrated to an accuracy of + or - 5%. Thus, the tables will be useful for calibrating the transmission of other analyzers for

Lineal energy calibration of a spherical TEPC

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2015
Tissue-equivalent proportional counters (TEPCs) do not always allow built-in calibration alpha-particle sources, and the lineal energy calibration of these counters must be performed with an external radiation able to penetrate the detector walls. The irradiation field can be used for calibration if a particular marker point of known lineal energy is ...

Uniformity of high-energy electron-beam calibrations

Physics in Medicine & Biology, 1969
A survey is made of the first year of operation of a new service offered by the National Bureau of Standards (NBS). Dosemeter units, consisting of polystyrene blocks holding stoppered quartz spectrophotometer cells filled with Fricke solution, are being shipped periodically to groups requesting assistance with absorbed-dose measurements in high-energy ...

Calibration of a proton beam energy monitora)

Medical Physics, 2007
Delivery of therapeutic proton beams requires an absolute energy accuracy of to for patch fields and a relative energy accuracy of to for tailoring the depth dose distribution using the energy stacking technique. Achromatic switchyard tunes, which lead to better stability of the beam incident onto the patient, unfortunately limit the ability of ...

Energy calibration points for clinical electron accelerators

Physics in Medicine & Biology, 1970
Bremsstrahlung yield curves were obtained for the photodisintegration reactions 16O(γ,n)15O and 31P(γ,2p)29Al. In both of these curves discontinuities in slope, called breaks, occur which can be used as calibration points for energy. The 17.3 Mev break in the oxygen yield was used to calibrate the energy of the Oklahoma synchrotron.

AES: energy calibration of electron spectrometers. Ill — General calibration rules

Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, 1997
Abstract The energy calibration of Auger electron spectrometers in the direct spectral mode is considered, in detail, partly on the basis of our earlier reference work. The shift in the peak positions for the Cu M2,3VV, Au N6,7VV, Ag M4,5VV, Cu L3VV, Al KL2,3L2,3 and Au M4,5N6,7N6,7 peaks, as a function of spectrometer resolution in the n(E) and En(E)
