Conditions for positivity of an energy operator

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1994
The authors present necessary and sufficient conditions such that the output from the Teager-Kaiser (1989) energy operator /spl lsqb/s/spl dot/(t)=ds(t)/dt/spl rsqb/ /spl Psi//sub c//spl lsqb/s(t)/spl rsqb/=s/spl dot//sup 2/(t)/spl minus/s(t)s/spl uml/(t) for continuous-time signals s(t) and the output from the corresponding discrete-time energy ...

Solar energy for soil conditioning

2011 IEEE EUROCON - International Conference on Computer as a Tool, 2011
Constant increase of energy consumption by growing population and shortening of natural resources will impose greater limitations of electric energy consumption by various treatment technologies. Shifting from large-scale treatment facilities powered from conventional sources to autonomic, small, and medium size installations supplied from renewables ...

Energy conditions in f(R,A) gravity

International Journal of Geometric Methods in Modern Physics, 2023
In this paper, we consider the framework of the newly proposed modified theory of gravity named [Formula: see text] gravity, wherein [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] signify the Ricci and anticurvature scalars, respectively. For our cosmic discussions, we evaluate a renowned [Formula: see text] model, incorporating various forms of the ...

Local energy conditions and asymptotic conditions

Classical and Quantum Gravity, 1994
We propose a new local energy condition sufficient to show the positivity of gravitational mass in static asymptotically flat spacetimes and discuss the relationship between the energy condition and the asymptotic conditions. Furthermore, we give some implications for asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes.

AN ENERGY CONDITION FOR THE EXISTENCE OF A ROTATION

Mathematics of the USSR-Sbornik, 1971
In this paper the following assertion is proved. Let the regular vector field be defined in a cube in the space . If the sum of the principal minors of the matrix is majorized by the quantity and, moreover, , then the length of the side of the square is bounded above: .

Energy Condition of Creep

Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 2019
The concept of a loading surface corresponding to creep strains is formulated similarly to how the concept of a loading surface corresponding to plastic strains is introduced. An equation for the loading surface corresponding to creep strains is obtained.

Energy conditions and spacetime singularities

Physical Review D, 1978
In this paper, a number of theorems are proven which collectively show that singularities will occur in spacetime under weaker energy conditions than the strong energy condition. In particular, the Penrose theorem, which uses only the weak energy condition but which applies only to open universes, is extended to all closed universes which have a Cauchy
