Tides and Energy Conditions in Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet Thin-Shell Wormholes
In this article we study spherical thin-shell wormholes in five-dimensional Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet gravity. We show that configurations supported by non-exotic matter, that is matter satisfying the weak energy condition, are possible at the same time that

Design of a Penta-Band Graphene-Based Terahertz Metamaterial Absorber with Fine Sensing Performance
This paper presents a new theoretical proposal for a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) terahertz metamaterial absorber with five narrow absorption peaks.

Regular black holes and energy conditions
We establish the relationship between the space-time structure of regular spherically-symmetrical black holes and the character of violation of the strong energy condition (SEC).

Thin-shell wormhole satisfying energy conditions
The quartic self-interacting conformal scalar field is used to construct a thin-shell wormhole satisfying all energy conditions. Accompanying the scalar field is the extremal Reissner-Nordstr m black hole with a positive cosmological constant. New junction conditions apt for the higher-order terms are introduced in the Gaussian normal coordinates. Our

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Since the use of chemical fuels is permanently damaging the environment, the need for new energy sources is urgent for mankind. Given that solar energy is a clean and sustainable energy source, this study investigates and proposes a six-layer composite ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Wormhole Restrictions from Quantum Energy Inequalities
Wormhole solutions, bridges that connect different parts of spacetime, were proposed early in the history of General Relativity. Soon after, it was shown that all wormholes violate classical energy conditions, which are non-negativity constraints on ...
