Social Costs of Energy Disruptions [PDF]
The costs of energy supply disruptions for industrialised economies go well beyond the economic measures of national accounts. According to different kinds of risks, physical shortages or price shocks, there are several categories of negative effects ...

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

the cost of clean energy [PDF]
Municipal and state regulations limiting the allowable sulfur content of fossil fuels are having the effect of changing fuel use patterns of many of the nation’s utilities. The utility companies are faced with increased costs of lower sulfur fuels and capital expenditures associated with the fuel changes, as well as with greater uncertainty concerning ...

Energy expenditure, aerobic energy cost and anaerobic energy cost.
A dificuldade de cálculo do custo energético durante a maioria das atividades físicas reside no fato da solicitação energética ser mista. Importa saber identificar em que condição é possível medir ou estimar o custo energético e em que condição tal não é possível.

MaxHedge: Maximising a Maximum Online [PDF]
We introduce a new online learning framework where, at each trial, the learner is required to select a subset of actions from a given known action set. Each action is associated with an energy value, a reward and a cost.
