Transcritical Carbon Dioxide Charge-Discharge Energy Storage with Integration of Solar Energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
New and improved energy storage technologies are required to overcome non-dispatchability, which is the main challenge for the successful integration of large shares of renewable energy within energy supply systems.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

ANALYSIS OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY RATIO (EER) IN AIR CONDITIONER (AC) TYPE SPLIT

open access: yesVANOS Journal of Mechanical Engineering Education, 2019
Cooling system is something that is already familiar to the people of Indonesia, both in domestic and industrial use. The cooling system functions to reduce the temperature of a room so that the temperature is as desired. The development of air conditioners is increasingly modern.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Effect of Relative Position of Two Sets of Outdoor Units Installed in Groove on Surrounding Thermal Environment

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2017
The installation conditions of two outdoor units were examined experimentally in an enthalpy-potential laboratory platform in this study. The influence of three installation conditions of outdoor unit on the surrounding thermal environment, air ...

Boosting thermoelectric efficiency using time-dependent control

open access: yes, 2015
Thermoelectric efficiency is defined as the ratio of power delivered to the load of a device to the rate of heat flow from the source. Till date, it has been studied in presence of thermodynamic constraints set by the Onsager reciprocal relation and the ...

Energy use and efficiency in selected rice-based cropping systems of the Middle-Indo Gangetic Plains in India [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The use and cost of energy in agriculture have increased, making it necessary to make current agricultural practices more energy efficient. To do this, the prevailing systems must be thoroughly analysed.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The Effect of Nozzle Configuration on Adsorption-Chiller Performance

open access: yesEnergies
Broadly defined climate protection is a powerful incentive in the search for environmentally friendly refrigeration technologies. Adsorption chillers are considered to be one such technology; however, their main disadvantages include a low cooling ...

ABS Ratio Optimization Algorithm for Enhancing Network Energy Efficiency in Hierarchical Heterogeneous Networks [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2018
Hierarchical heterogeneous networks change the topology of traditional cellular networks, and reduce networks energy consumption on the basis of improving networks capacity. However, the serious interlayer interference will cause significant deterioration ...
