The metabolic response to injury and stress is characterized initially by a decreased energy expenditure (Ebb phase) followed by an increased metabolic expenditure (Flow phase). Indirect calorimetry is a methodology utilized to measure energy expenditure

Caloric restriction that extends lifespan induces the expression of PGC‐1α and MIPEP in white adipose tissue. In this study, co‐overexpression of Pgc‐1α and Mipep upregulated the gene expression of PHOSPHO1. These findings provide new insights into mitochondria‐related mechanisms underlying the effects of caloric restriction in adipocytes.

Role of leptin in energy expenditure: the hypothalamic perspective.
The adipocyte-derived hormone leptin is a peripheral signal that informs the brain about the metabolic status of an organism. Although traditionally viewed as an appetite-suppressing hormone, studies in the past decade have highlighted the role of leptin

Abstract Purpose Histotripsy is a focal tumor therapy that utilizes focused ultrasound (US) to mechanically destroy tissue. To overcome visualization limitations of diagnostic US‐guidance, C‐arm cone beam CT (CBCT)‐guided histotripsy is being developed, for which a mobile C‐arm could increase accessibility. CBCT‐guided histotripsy uses a phantom with a
