Energy Model for Municipality Flexibility Investigation
2022 IEEE 63th International Scientific Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering of Riga Technical University (RTUCON), 2022Electrifying the energy system with heat pumps and electric vehicles is a strategy of many countries to reduce CO2 emissions. Large electrification, however, poses several new challenges for the electricity system, particularly in combination with a simultaneous substitution of nuclear power plants by volatile renewables such as photovoltaics.

Hierarchical architecture for flexible energy storage
Nanoscale, 2017The introduction of hierarchy and chirality into structure is of great interest, and can result in new optical and electronic properties due to the synergistic effect of helical and anisotropic structures. Herein, we demonstrate a simple and straightforward route toward the fabrication of hierarchical chiral materials based on the assembly of two ...

Energy-efficient flexible flow shop scheduling with worker flexibility
Expert Systems with Applications, 2020Abstract The classical flexible flow shop scheduling problem (FFSP) only considers machine flexibility. Thus far, the relevant literature has not studied FFSPs with worker flexibility, which is widely seen in practical manufacturing systems. Worker flexibility may greatly affect production efficiency and productivity.

Energy-Flexible Machine Control Interfaces
2018The amount of renewable energies in the total energy supply continues to increase. This leads to a volatile energy supply which is difficult to combine with today’s demand. One possible solution is to adapt energy consumption to the available supply. Implementation must be considered specifically for different sectors.
