Energy of Flows on Percolation Clusters
Potential Analysis, 2001Consider a percolation process with parameter \(p\) on \(\mathbb{Z}^d\) \((d\geq 3)\). Let \(h\) be a decreasing function such that \(\sum{1\over jh(j^{-1})}< \infty\) and \(H_h(u)/u\) is concave (where \(H_h(u):= u^{d/(d-1)}/h(u)\) is the associated gauge function). If \(p> p_c\), the authors prove the existence a.s. of a nonzero flow on \({\mathcal C}

Is the Photon a Self-Energy Flow or a Mutual-Energy Flow?
Open Access Journal of Applied Science and TechnologyIn classical electromagnetic theory, energy flow density is described by the Poynting vector, while in quantum mechanics, the concept of probability current exists. These flows are all generated by the source and are referred to here as self-energy flows.

AbstractThe second law of thermodynamics is central to understanding ecology, although it is ignored by most ecology text books. It follows from the second law that all organisms must draw free energy from their environment and return waste products back to their environment.

Display of the flow of energy in molecules
Journal of Computational Chemistry, 1994AbstractIn this article, we develop a method to graphically display the flow of energy within molecules. An energy continuity equation is derived leading to a molecular energy flux vector field. Computation of the flux calls for the intramolecular potential, any external interactions, and the phase space trajectories of the molecular motion.

This chapter focuses on the singlet excited states of model DNA helices with simple base sequence: poly(dGdC).poly(dGdC), poly(dAdT).poly(dAdT) and poly(dA).poly(dT). We discuss their absorption spectra, which reect the properties of Franck-Condon states, in connection with theoretical studies, performed in the frame of the exciton theory taking into ...

"Virial Theorem" for the Flow of Energy
Physical Review, 1955Expressions are obtained for the flow of energy and momentum in assemblies of densely packed molecules, using a generalized virial theorem. They differ to some extent from expressions put forward by previous authors who had only derived the divergence of the flow vectors. Classical results are shown to be valid also in quantum mechanics.

Hydrodynamic phenomenon, occurring at the junction where a dividing flow is present, is extremely complex and greatly varies according to modifications in discharge conditions near the junction. This is a theoretical and experimental study of free surface dividing flow phenomena in rectangular, horizontal channels with particular attention to energy ...
