Energy Inputs to Irrigation

Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1975
Energy inputs to irrigation are dramatically increasing as irrigated agriculture expands to meet world food demands and more sophisticated technologies are developed to increase water use efficiency. In this study nine irrigation systems, designed for a specific land area, are analyzed and the total energy inputs computed for each system.

An Energy Combiner for a Multi-Input Energy-Harvesting System

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2015
An energy combiner for delivering electrical energy harvested simultaneously from individual energy harvesters (EHs) to a single energy storage device such as a battery is presented. It is designed as a modular architecture to be handled as a subsystem and supports an arbitrary number of EHs, which can be connected to the energy combiner in a hot ...

Nutritional Outputs and Energy Inputs in Seafoods

Science, 1977
Energy used by U.S. ships in harvesting seafoods can vary by a factor of more than 100 when the seafoods are compared on the basis of their content of edible protein or line weight. This energy difference bears no relationship to the nutritive value of the food. When protein yield is compared, the energy to harvest some seafoods is in the same range as

Modelling Solar Energy Input in Greenhouses

Solar Energy, 1999
A semi one-dimensional climate model was used to investigate the relative importance of the constructional parameters that influence the solar energy collecting efficiency of greenhouses under Western European conditions. Parameters investigated were the transmittance of the greenhouse frame, the radiometric properties of the greenhouse cladding and ...

Energy input to the Earth

Climatic Change, 1991
We review the physical origin, spectral nature, energetics and known variability of all solar emanations: photons, particles and magnetic fields. Compared to a decade ago, our knowledge has greatly improved concerning variability in the total irradiance, as well as its EUV and UV components.

Input of Energy/Underwater Sound

2017
Underwater sound is ubiquitous throughout the world’s oceans. Evaluating its impact and relevance for the marine fauna is highly complex and hampered by a paucity of data, lack of understanding and ambiguity of terms. When comparing sound (an energetic pollutant) with substantial pollutants (chemical, biological or marine litter) two notable ...

Wages in a factor proportions model with energy input [PDF]

open access: possibleEconomic Modelling, 2014
Abstract This paper examines US wage adjustment in a structural vector autoregression of the factor proportions model with capital, labor, and energy inputs. Data cover the years 1949 to 2006. The wage adjusts to changes in input levels and output prices over six to eight years. Energy has a more robust wage impact than capital.
