The Energy Input in Norwegian Forestry
Forest Science, 1983Abstract The purpose of this article is to determine the energy input per m³ in Norwegian forestry in the years 1948/49 and 1978/79 and to find operational methods that require little energy. The energy for production of 1 unit of each of the means of production in forestry has been computed.

Bound of Earthquake Input Energy
Journal of Structural Engineering, 2004A new general critical excitation method is developed for a damped linear elastic single-degree-of-freedom structure. In contrast to prior studies considering amplitude nonstationarity only, no special constraint of input motions is needed on nonstationarity.

Energy input to the lower thermosphere
Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 1974The asymmetry in solar heat input to the upper atmosphere at the solstice, and the asymmetry in atomic oxygen production, are largely compensated by a large scale wind system towards the winter polar region. At magnetically disturbed times, atmospheric composition at high winter latitudes changes in such a way as to indicate that polar region heating

Energy Input to the Auroral Ionosphere.
1980Abstract : This effort was to aid studies of the high latitude ionosphere particularly with regard to Joule heating processes. For energy input to the atmosphere by Joule heating the dominant physical factor has been found to be the strength of the electric field - the motions of the ionospheric plasma through the nearly stationary neutral gas.

Active galactic nuclei pump substantial amounts of energy into their surroundings, in several forms. The direct action of radiation pressure, radiative heating of surrounding gas, and kinetic energy input through jets and winds may all play a role in modifying the environments of AGNs.

Applications of Input-Output Analysis to Energy Problems
Science, 1974A brief outline of the U. S. input- output system and data base is given. An input-output table gives a detailed picture of the flow of goods and services that individual industries buy from and sell to each other in a particular year. The system was used in estimating the impact of 1973- 1974 petroleum shortages on output, employment, and prices.
