Challenges and Future Directions in Assessing the Quality and Completeness of Advanced Materials Safety Data for Re‐Usability: A Position Paper From the Nanosafety Community

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Nanosafety data provide a guiding example for establishing best practices in data management, aligning with FAIR principles and quality criteria. This review explores existing quality assessment approaches for reliability, relevance, and completeness, emphasizing the need for harmonization and adaptation to nanomaterials and advanced materials. The aim

The importance of heat pump cost reduction and domestic supply chain development in the presence of persisting energy price shocks

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews
In this paper we conduct economy-wide scenario simulations to investigate whether and how the wider economic stimulus associated with deploying heat pumps in the UK may help mitigate the macroeconomic and distributional impacts of persistently high ...

Toward a Smart EU Energy Policy: Rationale and 22 Recommendations [PDF]

open access: yes
We are in desperate need of an EU Energy Policy. The facts are that, yes, there is indeed an EU Energy Policy. It is a policy based on a vision, a vision with three components. The policy is aiming for “markets, competition and efficiency”, it is equally

Rupestonic Acid of Artemisia Rupestris L. Extract Treats Pulmonary Fibrosis in COPD by Targeting TGF‐β1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RA of EEAR inhibits TGF‐β1 ubiquitination and changes conformation by target binding TGF‐β1, regulating TGF‐β1/Smad2/3 signaling pathway. Thus it down‐regulated downstream protein expression, inhibited EMT and collagen deposition of ECM, in order to EEAR preventing PF in COPD.

DEL‐1 is an Endogenous Senolytic Protein that Inhibits Senescence‐Associated Bone Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Senescent bone marrow stromal cells accumulate in the aging bone microenvironment, promoting bone degeneration. DEL‐1, an endogenous secreted protein, acts as a natural senolytic that selectively eliminates these cells. By engaging a β3 integrin/CD73/adenosine/p38 MAPK/BCL‐2 pathway, DEL‐1 counters aging‐related bone loss, revealing promising ...

Magnetic Anisotropy Modulation via van der Waals Gap Engineering in 2D Ferromagnet Fe4GeTe2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a new route to control magnetic anisotropy in 2D ferromagnets via van der Waals gap engineering. In Fe4GeTe2, an interface‐induced vdW gap expansion is found to anomalously enhance in‐plane magnetic anisotropy while suppressing the spin reorientation transition.
