Uncoupling of energy production
Cell Metabolism, 2022Mitochondrial genetic diseases are a very diverse group of conditions. A recent report by Mootha and colleagues in NEJM describes the underlying genetic defect and clinical findings in monozygotic twins with uncoupling of ATP production.

Annual Review of Nuclear Science, 1953
Abstract Recent work and trends in the field of stellar energy production and related topics are reviewed. Thermonuclear reactions are discussed in general, and a list is given of those reactions which might be important in the interior of different types of stars, together with the temperature at which these reactions set in.

The measurement of product translational and rotational energies, and in some cases vibrational energy, is often more readily accomplished than the measurement of the dissociation rate. As a result there exists a considerable body of experimental information about product energy distributions (FED) for many classes of reactions.

In this chapter, data from both the CPU frequency tuning experiments (Chap. 6) and the network bandwidth experiments (Chap. 7) are analyzed using a range of fused metrics based on Energy Delay Product (EDP). The analysis in this chapter demonstrates how multiple metrics can be combined and observed as a single fused metric.

Energy Policy, 1991
Abstract Soviet oil production fell in 1990 to 570 million tonnes (46 million bbl/day), as did coal to 703 million tonnes; the increase in gas output (to 815 billion cubic metres) was, with constant nuclear and hydroelectric generation, inadequate to prevent an aggregate decline in energy supply, as had first occurred in 1989.

Energy productivity, denoted as economic output per energy unit, is vital for assessing energy efficiency and harmonizing economic expansion with environmental sustainability. Originating in the 1970s' energy crises, this concept emphasizes the optimization of energy value, moving away from simple consumption reduction to achieve sustainable economic ...
