A pulsed resonance clocking for energy recovery

2014 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2014
An energy efficient and area saving local clocking scheme using new resonant techniques is illustrated with a bank of 1024 flip-flops. Energy recovering pulsed resonant (PR) clocking is designed to drive explicit-pulsed negative setup time latches. A pre-driver that generates tracking pulses at each transition of clock for dual edge (DET) operation is ...

Improving energy recovery in CDI systems

2013 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2013
One of the latest methods for desalinating water is the so-called Capacitive De-Ionization (CDI). The technology is based on carbon electrodes that are capable of adsorbing ionic components from water. The aim of this paper is to present a water desalination system in which a dc/dc converter is used to efficiently recover part of the energy involved ...

Energy Saving In NGL Recovery Plant

International Meeting on Petroleum Engineering, 1988
ABSTRACT Based on the result of exergy analysis on a pilot NGL recovery plant which uses low presure associated gas (LP-gas) as feed, the possible way of saving energy by this kind of plant is discussed.

Photoelectrochemical batteries for efficient energy recovery

Chem. Commun., 2014
Herein we propose novel photoelectrochemical fuel cells (PEFCs) by the introduction of a solid-state Ag2O/Ag cathode (here also term as photoelectrochemical battery). Due to the superior electrochemical properties of Ag2O/Ag, the maximum power density of our PEFCs can reach 0.94 mW cm(-2) upon UV illumination.

Energy recovery for low-power CMOS

Proceedings Sixteenth Conference on Advanced Research in VLSI, 2002
Energy recovery, as a means to trade off power dissipation for performance in CMOS logic circuits, is analyzed and investigated. A mathematical model is presented to estimate the efficiency for two energy-recovery approaches under varying conditions of voltage swing, transition time, and MOS device parameters. This model can be directly compared to the

Energy Recovery in Membrane Capacitive Deionization

Environmental Science & Technology, 2013
Membrane capacitive deionization (MCDI) is a water desalination technology based on applying a cell voltage between two oppositely placed porous carbon electrodes. In front of each electrode, an ion-exchange membrane is positioned, and between them, a spacer is situated, which transports the water to be desalinated. In this work, we demonstrate for the

Energy recovery clocked dynamic logic

Proceedings of the 15th ACM Great Lakes symposium on VLSI, 2005
Energy recovery clocking results in significant energy savings in clock distribution networks as compared to conventional square-wave clocking. However, since energy recovery clocks are sinusoidal in nature, standard dynamic logic styles do not work efficiently when used with energy recovery clocks.
