Analytical and Numerical Modeling of Stress Intensity Factor in I-Shaped Cross Sections of Cracked Beams [PDF]
In this paper, the stress intensity factor (SIF) in the opening mode I is investigated in cracked beams with the I-shaped cross sections under axial loading.

Revisiting Energy Release Rates in Brittle Fracture [PDF]
The paper deals, in a two-dimensional setting of linear anisotropic elasticity, with the evolution of a crack path. Closed connected one-dimensional sets, called add-cracks, are added to the tip of given cracks. Via blow-up Hausdorff limits the energy release rate of a sequence of add-cracks is defined and, under certain assumptions, is shown to exist.

Numerical verification of energy release rate and J-Integral in large strain formulation
The fracture criterion is a critical topic in fracture mechanics. However, the equality of J-Integral (J) and energy release rate (G) has not been numerically verified under large strain theory.

How to obtain a more accurate maximum energy release rate for mixed mode fracture
Energy release rate (ERR) is considered one of the most widely employed fracture criteria. However, for mixed mode fracture situations, the exact computation of ERR for an infinitesimal branch crack is challenging.

The role of intralaminar damages on the delamination evolution in laminated composite structures
Delamination is a major failure mode affecting laminated composite structures. This failure mechanism, if not properly monitored, can lead to uncontrolled cracks growth and premature structural collapse.
