Energy Management Strategy for Grid-Tied Microgrids Considering the Energy Storage Efficiency

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2018
A grid-tied microgrid (MG) with a battery energy storage system (BESS) is studied in this paper. The energy storage efficiencies of the BESS are considered to optimize the operational cost of the MG.

Hybrid model based on K-means++ algorithm, optimal similar day approach, and long short-term memory neural network for short-term photovoltaic power prediction

open access: yesGlobal Energy Interconnection, 2023
Photovoltaic (PV) power generation is characterized by randomness and intermittency due to weather changes. Consequently, large-scale PV power connections to the grid can threaten the stable operation of the power system.

2D Superlattices for Efficient Energy Storage and Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, 2019
Abstract2D genuine unilamellar nanosheets, that are, the elementary building blocks of their layered parent crystals, have gained increasing attention, owing to their unique physical and chemical properties, and 2D features. In parallel with the great efforts to isolate these atomic‐thin crystals, a unique strategy to integrate them into 2D vertically ...

Investigation of a novel virtual cathode oscillator with decelerating electric field [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
Traditional virtual cathode oscillators require extremely high operating voltage to generate beam currents exceeding the space charge limiting current to form virtual cathodes, which significantly limits their repetitive operation capability and ...

Real-time prediction models for remaining cold start time in proton exchange membrane fuel cell based on stack temperature

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2023
In order to mitigate the irreversible damage caused by cold start and preserve cell performance, this paper proposes a real-time prediction method based on the remaining cold start time of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
