Predictive capacity of a genetic risk score for coronary artery disease in assessing recurrences and cardiovascular mortality among patients with myocardial infarction

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2023
AimThis study aimed to evaluate the capacity of a genetic risk score (GRS) for coronary artery disease (CAD) independent of classical cardiovascular risk factors to assess the risk of recurrence in patients with first myocardial infarction. The secondary

The Role of Albuminuria in Diagnosing and Stratifying Kidney Disease in Heart Transplant Recipients: A KDIGO Criteria‐Based Analysis

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, Volume 39, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common but poorly characterized complication in heart transplant (HT) recipients due to limited use of renal damage markers, such as albuminuria. Our aim is to determine CKD prevalence based on the Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO) criteria, assess CKD risk stratification according ...

Non‐Endocardial Radiofrequency Ablation of Premature Ventricular Complexes (NERA‐PVC): Safety, Efficacy and Outcome

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 36, Issue 12, Page 3126-3135, December 2025.
Non‐endocardial radiofrequency ablation of PVCs is a safe and effective procedure, even with the use of high power and/or long duration RF application. Clinicians should consider this approach in case of LV summit and/or ASV PVCs, although long‐term follow‐up is still characterized by a relatively high recurrence rate.

Atrial cardiomyopathy: From healthy atria to atrial failure. A clinical consensus statement of the Heart Failure Association of the ESC

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, Volume 27, Issue 11, Page 2173-2194, November 2025.
The diagnosis of atrial cardiomyopathy (AtCM) requires electrical atrial dysfunction, with evidence of either mechanical atrial dysfunction, atrial enlargement, or excessive atrial fibrosis. The diagnostic cut‐points presented are for standard electrocardiogram and echocardiogram studies (see Figure 1 for further detail).
