A Comprehensive End-to-End Computer Vision Framework for Restoration and Recognition of Low-Quality Engineering Drawings [PDF]
The digitization of engineering drawings is crucial for efficient reuse, distribution, and archiving. Existing computer vision approaches for digitizing engineering drawings typically assume the input drawings have high quality. However, in reality, engineering drawings are often blurred and distorted due to improper scanning, storage, and transmission,

Photo2CAD: Automated 3D solid reconstruction from 2D drawings using OpenCV [PDF]
This study showcases the utilisation of OpenCV for extracting features from photos of 2D engineering drawings. These features are then employed to reconstruct 3D CAD models in SCAD format and generate 3D point cloud data similar to LIDAR scans. Many historical mechanical, aerospace, and civil engineering designs exist only as drawings, lacking software-

On Gender, Ethnicity, and Culture in Empirical Software Engineering Research [PDF]
This note highlights the importance of investigating diversity aspects in combination in empirical research. It draws on the psychological discourse and suggests why and how software engineering scholars can use the aspect of diversity in all their research endeavors.

Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

Subpar reporting of pre‐analytical variables in RNA‐focused blood plasma studies
Pre‐analytical variables strongly influence the analysis of extracellular RNA (cell‐free RNA; exRNA) derived from blood plasma. Their reporting is essential to allow interpretation and replication of results. By evaluating 200 exRNA studies, we pinpoint a lack of reporting pre‐analytical variables associated with blood collection, plasma preparation ...

Symbols Classification in Engineering Drawings [PDF]
Technical drawings are commonly used across different industries such as Oil and Gas, construction, mechanical and other types of engineering. In recent years, the digitization of these drawings is becoming increasingly important. In this paper, we present a semi-automatic and heuristic-based approach to detect and localise symbols within these ...

We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...
