Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1513-1534, June 2026.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1535-1555, June 2026.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

A method to optimize the regenerator parameters of a thermoacoustic engine

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2017
Abstract Thermoacoustic engines are devices suitable to convert heat into acoustic energy and viceversa. They are basically composed with a porous medium and two heat exchangers inserted into a resonator or looped tube. Depending on the phase shift between the sound pressure and the particle velocity of the working fluid, two categories of engines ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A Bayesian Parameter Estimation Approach to Response Surface Optimization in Quality Engineering

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi, 2019
Inrecent years, Bayesian analyses have become increasingly popular for solvingindustrial related problems. This paper illustrates the use of Bayesian methodsin response surface methodology (RSM) in the context of “off-line quality”improvement.

Sliding mode control of uncertain parameter-switiching hybrid systems

open access: yes, 2014
In control theory, sliding mode control (SMC) is a nonlinear control method that alters the dynamics of a nonlinear system by application of a discontinuous control signal that forces the system to slide along a cross-section of the system's normal ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1494-1512, June 2026.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Stabilizing steady-state properties of open quantum systems with parameter engineering

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Realistic quantum systems are affected by environmental loss, which is often seen as detrimental for applications in quantum technologies. Alternatively, weak coupling to an environment can aid in stabilizing highly entangled and mixed states, but ...
