Cooperation Enhancement for Message Transmission in VANETs
Wireless Personal Communications, 2006As one special case of the Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET), vehicular ad-hoc networking (VANET) is featured by its high mobility and constantly changing topology. In VANET, nodes can work properly only if the participating vehicles cooperate with each other during communications.

Transmission collisions occur, refereed to as cooperation collisions, in D-TDMA MAC with the introduction of node cooperation in the presence of relative node mobility and channel fading. In this chapter, we present an improvised CAH-MAC with a collision avoidance scheme, referred to as enhanced CAH-MAC (eCAH-MAC) (Bharati et al., Proceedings of IEEE ...

The Lugano Model - Cooperative Enhancement Over Enhanced Cooperation
2017INTRODUCTION In September 2010, during the legislative process leading to the recast of Regulation (EC) No 44/2001 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters (Brussels I), the European Parliament was faced with a proposal by the Commission, which suggested far-reaching inclusions of non-Member ...

Enhanced cooperative filter for wildfire monitoring
2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2015This paper proposes a multi-UAV based wildfire monitoring algorithm to estimate fire rate of spread and therefore to further assess fire growth through fire front contour estimation. The proposed algorithm allows for convergent estimation with reasonable accuracy. It is achieved by online position and temperature measurements from a fleet of UAVs.

Chapter 1 presents the thesis that the climate change negotiations run the risk of a ‘horizontal deadlock’ where neither ICs nor DCs feel motivated to take further action on the grounds that the other party would then be perceived as getting a free ride.

Enhancing the Scalability of Metaheuristics by Cooperative Coevolution
2010The aim of this paper is to analyze the ability of cooperative coevolution to improve the scalability of population based metaheuristics An extensive set of experiments on high dimensional optimization problems has been conducted in order to study the particularities and effectiveness of some elements involved in the design of cooperative ...

Cooperativity and additivity in plant enhancers
2023ABSTRACT Enhancers are cis -regulatory elements that shape gene expression in response to numerous developmental and environmental cues. In animals, several models have been proposed to explain how enhancers integrate the activity of multiple transcription factors.

Enhanced cooperation increases the capacity for conflict
Behavioral and Brain SciencesAbstract Enhanced cooperation increases the capacity for humans to engage in large-scale warfare. This ability provides the foundation for male coalitionary behavior, leaving open the question of whether cooperation evolved in the same way, or for the same purpose, in females. Such coalitionary behavior entrains hierarchical forms of leadership that
