Environmental Enrichment: An Underestimated Factor Associated With Depression
International Journal of Social PsychiatryBackground: Despite the well-documented benefits of environmental enrichment (EE) in animal models of depression, the application of these findings to humans is complex due to individual variability and environmental constraints.

Growth factor responses of enriched bipotential glial progenitors
Developmental Brain Research, 1990Responses of oligodendrocyte/type 2 astrocyte (O-2A) glial progenitors from neonatal rat brains to different growth factors were studied by a new, serum-free method. Enriched tertiary cultures of O-2A progenitors were produced after 6-7 days in vitro using the growth-promoting factors from the B104 CNS neuronal cell line, heparin, and mechanical ...

Determination of trace elements and evaluation of their enrichment factors in Himalayan lichens
Environmental Pollution, 2002Within the framework of the Ev-K2-CNR research program of the Italian National Research Council a specific task project has been initiated for the identification of trace elements in lichens in remote high altitude areas. This is to evaluate the possibility of using lichens as biomonitors of trace elements of atmospheric pollution.

On Evaluating Molecular-Docking Methods for Pose Prediction and Enrichment Factors
Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling, 2005Four of the most well-known, commercially available docking programs, FlexX, GOLD, GLIDE, and ICM, have been examined for their ligand-docking and virtual-screening capabilities. The relative performance of the programs in reproducing the native ligand conformation from starting SMILES strings for 164 high-resolution protein-ligand complexes is ...

Human T lymphcytes are enriched for transfer factor.
The Journal of Immunology, 1980Abstract Using a canine local skin assay, we tested transfer factor prepared from three subpopulations of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. T lymphocytes are enriched for transfer factor whereas adherent cells and nonadherent/nonrosetting cells are not.

[Production of an enriched factor VIII reagent].
Folia haematologica (Leipzig, Germany : 1928), 1977An enriched factor VIII preparation was produced from cryoprecipitates by means of dextran. Cleaning was made in two phases: In the first phase the fibrinogen was precipitated and in the subsequent second phase the same was done with antihaemophilic globulin.

Liver‐enriched transcription factors and hepatocyte differentiation
The FASEB Journal, 1996Liver‐specific gene expression in adult hepatocytes relies on four families of evolutionary conserved transcription factors that are liver‐enriched but not restricted to this tissue. These factors function in unique combinations, often synergisti‐cally, to stimulate cell‐specific transcription.
