LC determination of enrofloxacin
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 2002A simple, rapid and sensitive high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method was developed for the assay of enrofloxacin in raw material and injection. The validation method yielded good results and included the range, linearity, precision, accuracy, specificity, recovery, limit of detection (LOD) and limit quantification (LOQ) values.

Physicochemical properties of enrofloxacin
Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1997The physicochemical properties of enrofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone that inhibits the activity of bacterial DNA gyrase, are described. Its spectral, solubility and related physicochemical characteristics are discussed. The dissociation behaviour of enrofloxacin was examined by UV spectrophotometry at 25 degrees C in a series of buffers ranging from pH 1 ...

Microbiological assay for enrofloxacin injection
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2004A simple, sensitive and specific agar diffusion bioassay for the antibacterial enrofloxacin was developed. Using a strain of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538P as the test organism, enrofloxacin at concentrations ranging from 3.2 to 12.8 microg ml(-1) could be measured in injection. A prospective validation of the method showed that method was linear (r =

Pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin in turkeys
Research in Veterinary Science, 2007The pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin (EFL) and its active metabolite ciprofloxacin (CIP) was investigated in 7-8 month old turkeys (6 birds per sex). EFL was administered intravenously (i.v.) and orally (p.o.) at a dose 10 mg kg(-1) body weight. Blood was taken prior to and at 0.17, 0.33, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 24 h following drug administration.

Fate of Enrofloxacin in Swine Sewage
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2004The fate of enrofloxacin present in raw sewage at a swine-breeding facility was investigated by liquid-liquid extraction and reversed-phase liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection. Samples were collected in the storage pits of each pigsty and in a nonaerated lagoon used to stock the sewage.

Enrofloxacin‐associated retinal degeneration in cats
Veterinary Ophthalmology, 2001AbstractObjectiveThe objective of this study was to evaluate the possible relationship between the administration of parenteral enrofloxacin and the onset of acute retinal degeneration in cats. The animals studied included 17 cats that received systemic enrofloxacin and developed retinal degeneration soon thereafter.ProceduresIn this retrospective ...

Pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin in lactating sheep
Research in Veterinary Science, 2003The pharmacokinetics of enrofloxacin (ENR) was investigated after its intravenous (iv) and intramuscular (im) administration in six healthy lactating sheep. After iv ENR injection (as a bolus), the elimination half-life (t(1/2beta)), the volume of distribution (Vd(area)), and the area under the concentration vs. time curve (AUC) were 3.30 (0.36)h, 2.91
